The New York Yankees lost again to the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night. They lost two games in the three game series, making this the first series they have lost since the April 5-7th series against the Detroit Tigers. For some reason, the Yankees do not know how to win in St. Petersburg.

Since 2010, the Yankees are 10-20 at Tropicana Field. I do not get why they lose a majority of their games in St. Petersburg. Is it because the Rays are the home team? There are many New Yorkers who live in the area. Tampa Bay is near the bottom of the league in attendance so when the Yankees come to town, ticket sales go up.

Since many of the people at the games are Yankees fans, this should give the Yankees a boost. The Yankees also play in Tampa Bay almost ten times a year. There is no reason for them not to be use to playing there. When the Yankees lose in Tampa, they always struggle to score runs. In the previous three game series, the Yanks scored a total of five runs.

The Yankees could not support a solid outing by Andy Pettitte on Wednesday. He had ten strikeouts in ten innings, but the Yankees could not score a run. CC Sabathia also did not look very sharp on Monday night.

The next time the Yankees will be in Tampa Bay will be May 24th-26th. Hopefully by then they find a way to win there because a 10-20 record at that stadium is not good at all.
