Robbie Grossman and Jose Altuve Could Work for Houston Astros

Recently the Houston Astros called up hot outfield prospect Robbie Grossman from the minor leagues. Grossman is from the Houston area and was traded to the team several months ago. As of now he is the number 18 prospect in the Astros system. Actually as of now he is playing every day and having an impact in the major leagues with the Astros. What could be better?

Okay well it would be better if the Astros were winning more games. But hey one milestone at a time, you know? The Astros are not going to win a ton of games this year. That is apparent already looking at their record. Bo Porter if focusing on the correct thing though and that is helping give his team the best chance they have to win. If they lose a hundred games while giving it their best shot during most of them, I am sure Porter will remain focused on helping them long term.

I said that to say this. Porter has something here with Grossman and Altuve at the start of the line-up. Altuve is a great lead-off hitter but he would be great hitting eighth with a long string of chewing gum as a bat. Putting him second will help the base-happy Grossman continue his minor league trend of getting on base quite a lot. From there Altuve will do whatever he will do that makes him great.

It might not win them five games but you know it just might. Most importantly it will be a solid place to start building the future of this franchise. And you never know Chris Carter and the middle of the order might completely renew their season and begin crushing the ball all over again. Simple moves like this one can make future seasons. Porter will be a great decision making manager one day because of this type of quality.
