Paul Goldschmidt Leads Offensive Charge For Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Arizona Diamondbacks offense has been struggling to score runs in the past couple of the games that they have played, and this was the main reason why they have lost five of their last six games.

The one comfort that Arizona had was that their offense was not as bad at scoring runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ offense, which has only managed to score 106 runs in 31 games. They had to like their chances of earning a victory over the Dodgers in Monday’s game.

The Diamondbacks’ biggest problem on offense has been their inability to score when they have runners in scoring position. The way that they were able to score runs off the Dodgers in this game, though, it appeared that they had no problems at all.

There was one player for Arizona that the lead charge on offense for them in this game — power-hitting first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, who has been their best hitter this season, and leads the team in several offensive categories.

He is not like your prototypical slugger that most MLB teams have. The one facet that separates him for other players that have power is that he is willing to take pitches and draw walks against opposing pitchers. He is always looking for ways that he can improve as a hitter and become a better defender at first base.

The offense for Arizona looked great in this game, and they will need Goldschmidt to continue being the leader on offense.
