Kendrys Morales Making Impact for Seattle Mariners

The turnaround of Kendrys Morales this season has been amazing to say the least.

He suffered a terrible leg injury celebrating a game-winning home run in 2010 and never fully recovered until now. He has been leading the Seattle Mariners this season in batting average and while Seattle may be 23-31 going into Friday, they have a solid force in the middle of their lineup to work with.

The team got Morales in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels for Jason Vargas this offseason as there was simply no room for the slugger in the the Angels’ lineup. Los Angeles needed pitching and Seattle ended up with the powerful left-handed slugger.

They can’t be disappointed with what they ended up with. I think we will be seeing Morales hit 25-30 home runs by the end of this season. He has seven home runs right now with a .298 batting average.

He is too good of a hitter not to hit that many homers. The injuries will always be a concern, but I think he is fully recovered now. Seattle has a great chance to be better than they have been in the last few seasons with Morales and Michael Morse in the middle of their lineup.

I will be curious to see if Morales can keep this up. It is a great story and one that I really hope can continue throughout the rest of the 2013 season.
