Bronson Arroyo and Cincinnati Reds Face Big Game in Primetime Sunday

Bronson Arroyo Reds

The Sunday night game this week will pit the first place St. Louis Cardinals against the second place Cincinnati Reds. The Reds will send veteran starter Bronson Arroyo to the hill in what is a really big game for the Reds. The three game series is tied at one game apiece and the rubber game will send the Reds to either four games out or only two games behind the Cards. The Cardinals are tossing Lance Lynn.

Though the Reds are struggling to keep pace with the Cardinals, that doesn’t really mean that they have played badly. In fact the Cards have the best record in Major League Baseball going into the game tonight, so really everyone is chasing the Cardinals. A win tonight the Reds can take themselves one giant step closer. This is a swing game that is worth two games in the division. Arroyo is the guy on the hill and that doesn’t guarantee anything.

He has faced the Cards twice this season. One game saw him give up four runs while he only gave up one in the other. It didn’t matter really because they lost both games. The key for them to win this game is going to include both a repeat performance from Arroyo’s good start and the Reds are going to need to score some runs. For sure this was a good pick for the primetime Sunday game. It has playoff type ramifications and I’m sure the atmosphere will match. It will be fun to watch.
