Minnesota Twins Growing Stagnant Towards Bottom of AL Central

I think there is a lot to like about the Minnesota Twins. In fact I even like to cheer for them in most cases or pull for them to at least win a few games against some opponent they are supposed to beat. While understanding that any team can be beaten on any day, the thing for the Twins is that they seem to be the underdog most all the time. Unfortunately I think this is for good reason.

For a while it seemed during a winning streak that things were turning around for the Twins. It seemed believable that they could launch themselves at the very least above a few teams. I read a good article here on Rant Sports that laid out the situation quite well. Find it here.

That was posted seven days ago and the Twins have basically played .500 ‘ball over that span, and for sure during the month of June. It is good to be optimistic and no one knows what will happen over the length of the entire MLB Season. However, I think the claim in the above article that the Twins will be a .500 or lower team for the balance of the season is accurate barring some drastic surge of wins.

They are still fun to watch and they are always fun to cheer for. They have probably one of the best organizations in baseball as far as young prospects coming from the minors. All of that will keep us interested but I can’t help wondering if this trade deadline is the one when one of the big Minnesota names finally wears another jersey.
