5 New York Yankees Who Are Having a Rough June

This has been a very interesting season so far for the New York Yankees. At the beginning of the season, not many people were giving the Yankees a chance. Experts were saying that they will miss the playoffs. Very few people said that they will make the playoffs. Right now, it is too early to start talking playoffs. We are only in June. There are still 20 more games to be played before the season is half over.

The Yankees’ problem this season has been consistency. They will go on a hot streak, and then they will start slumping. There has been times when they have looked liked the best team in baseball. There has also been times when they have looked liked the worst team in baseball. Through it all, they are only two games out of first place.

Since it is only June, it is too early to start worrying about whether or not the Yankees will make the playoffs. The Yankees still have a long way to go before they even start thinking about the postseason. If the season ended today, the Yankees would be one of the two teams that would play in the Wild Card Playoff game.

The month of June has been interesting for the Yankees. Their record for the month is a mediocre 6-4. They got off to a rough start by losing their first two games, but they won four in a row after that. As we approach the mid-point of the month, there are players who are doing well, but some have been disappointing.

What I have done is make a list of the players who have struggled so far this month.

Travis Hafner

His is hitting .174 but he still has two home runs this month. Still, he's not doing as well as he was doing at the beginning of the season.

Hiroki Kuroda

Once considered to be the Yankees' best pitcher, Kuroda just hasn't looked good lately. This month, his record is 0-2 with a disappointing ERA of 5.40. I hope that he picks things up soon.

Vernon Wells

It seems like that he has been slumping since may. He has not been any better in June. He is hitting .133 with zero home runs. Maybe his hot start was a fluke.

Kevin Youkilis

Another guy who has been in a bad slump. He is not playing the way the Yankees hoped he would play when they gave him a $12 million contract. In June, he is hitting .179 with zero home runs and zero RBIs.

Ichiro Suzuki

Perhaps the most disappointing Yankee so far this season. I keep saying that Ichiro will get better, but it just hasn't happened yet. In June, he is hitting .233 with only seven hits. I hope that he picks things up because he is capable of playing much better than he has been playing.
