Houston Astros Dominating Series against Chicago White Sox
The little signs that the Houston Astros are taking their franchise in the right direction are literally everywhere. They had a great draft and are looking sign the guys they need to sign with little issue. Their front office gets further in order with every single move they make. They have the manager of the year leading their team whether they win another game or not. One of the more promising signs is the way they are dominating the series with the Chicago White Sox.
The Astros have won the first three games of the series in dominant fashion. Their starting pitchers are pitching well and the offense is getting the job done right in time. All total through the three games they have only trailed for three innings. They were down by a run for an inning and a half for each of the first two games. Other than that they have held the lead.
Now they go into the final game of the four game set on Monday looking to complete a dominating four game sweep with the staff ace Bud Norris going. I’ll tell you the chances look pretty stinking good right now. Of course that is why they play the games. The White Sox certainly have had their struggles but very few would imagine at the mid-point of June that the Astros would be favored to win a series and I feel that they really should have been this time.
I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again so maybe it will stick. This team is still 18 games below the .500 mark and not anywhere near threatening to win a division. I just about guarantee you they will be the team that no one wants to face at the end of the season. That is especially true if the AL West tightens up going forward.
