Who would have thought that the Los Angeles Angels would go out and take two of three from the St. Louis Cardinals who are still one of the best teams in Major League Baseball? I know I wouldn’t have a short time ago. All kinds of good things happened for the Angels in the Cardinals series and they have a job to do now against an even better team in the Boston Red Sox. They need to show that they can play with the best teams in baseball and I think they will.

I predict the Angels take at least one of three while keeping at least two of the games close. Don’t expect much from any pitcher on two days rest after getting shelled last time out as well. Anything they get from Saturday’s game will be a bonus. I think the other two will be close for most of the game and if they are then the Angels have a chance to pull it out. They are developing a bit of a sense for the dramatic ending of late and things seem to be coming together.

It might be too little too late for their season or it might not but they can still go out and beat the good teams and prove a point. Most of their guys will be back next season and they can go out with a chip on their shoulder and beat some teams up. There would be no better point to prove than to win a series against the Red Sox. I think they are probably the best and most consistent team in the big leagues. Beating them one of three would be a plus for any team. Let’s see what the Angels can do.
