The National League has won three straight All-Star games and in those games, their pitching has completely dominated.
The pitching looks to be dominant once again for the NL as they are headlined by the New York Mets rookie Matt Harvey. Clayton Kershaw has been just as dominant as Harvey, and they have been arguably been the two best pitchers in all of baseball if you are not looking at wins and losses.
Patrick Corbin, Aroldis Chapman and Jason Grilli are also major names highlighting the NL’s pitching staff in the upcoming Midsummer Classic.
Yadier Molina would most likely be tha NL MVP if the season ended today, and he will start behind the dish. Molina has been the best catcher in all of baseball and when he comes out, reigning NL MVP, Buster Posey will replace him. The catcher position is a major strength for the NL this season.
Carlos Gonzalez highlights the NL starting lineup as he has been fantastic all season long. He looks to continue his success against some of the best pitchers in the game. David Wright will get the start at third in his home stadium as he will definitely have the crowd on his side.
The NL will have some major power coming off the bench with Paul Goldschmidt, Michael Cuddyer and Pedro Alvarez all coming in as reserves. Some other big-name reserves include Andrew McCutchen, Carlos Gomez, and Matt Carpenter.
Obviously, there is a lot of talent on both teams, but the talent on the NL side is extraordinary. It is so hard to look at this team and think that they won’t be able to pull out the win with the pitching and power they have on their roster.
