With the trade deadline coming up at the end of the month, every team needs to decide at what they are going to try and go after.  Some teams need that one player that is going to take them to the next level and some teams are going to be willing to give up their stars.

The Tampa Bay Rays are 4.5 games off the lead in their division and hold the second wild card spot only a half game out of the top spot.  They look like they are on their way to the playoffs this season, but they want to make it farther than just the playoffs this season.

The Rays have one of the best pitching rotations in all of baseball to go along with a solid bullpen.  Their pitching is World Series winning caliber, but if they want to think about winning it all they will have to add a nice bat in their lineup to give it some depth.

Yunel Escobar is the Rays every day shortstop and he has just not been producing enough on offense for the Rays to win it all.   If they want to take that next step as a franchise this season they are going to have to fix that shortstop spot.

If the Rays want to win the World Series they have to go big or they will be going home early.  Troy Tulowitzki  is one of the best shortstops in the league, but on an average team.  The Colorado Rockies have a great lineup, but not so good pitching.

The Rays have the best pitching prospects out of any team in their farm systems.  It would cost a lot to go out and get Tulowotzki, but the Rays have the prospects to do it.  He is the one player who could potentially bring a championship to Tampa if he goes there.
