Cleveland Indians Prospect Francisco Lindor Takes Ace Plan to Double-A
Minor league prospects ride a proverbial roller-coaster of production as they move throughout their minor league system as dictated by the major league team. Cleveland Indians prospect Francisco Lindor has kept his performance fairly steady and been rewarded with a trip to double-A. Lindor has the poise of a Major League Baseball player already. Now he just needs the experience and ability to catch up with the rest of him.
That kind of growth can only happen in going through the minor league system. To be sure some guys make the trip faster than others but in large part the maturation of the talent of a ballplayer happens as their competition gets tougher. Double-A is a great opportunity but also a huge challenge for Lindor. This is the point in which he will either be deemed too young to succeed at that level just yet or he will win a trip to triple-A next year as well as a potential September call-up this year.
What is Lindor’s attitude as he goes through such an important time on his trip to MLB? He says that he is just going to go out and play double-A baseball and focus solely on that. Such a great attitude is the reason he already has the poise of a major leaguer. So many have their goals and eyes set so far up the ladder that they miss a step and fall to the bottom again. Lindor looks to be one of those who will touch every step on the ladder on his way to the very top.
