Chicago White Sox Rumors: Will be Biggest Sellers at Trade Deadline
Even with all of the trade rumors swirling around the Chicago White Sox, there is still loyalty to be found within the roster. Jake Peavy and Matt Lindstrom, both of whom are big time trade pieces, said recently on the official team site that they want to stick with the White Sox. Alex Rios also seems to be doing his best to remain a part of the team. Who wouldn’t really? It is admirable of them to be loyal but unfortunately it won’t change the Sox status as big sellers at the MLB trade deadline.
Peavy is getting attention from all kinds of teams, with the Arizona Diamondbacks maybe being one of the biggest names involved. Every single team in the major leagues that has an outside shot at the playoffs seems interested in Lindstrom. Rios is being looked at by the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates very closely. The short of it is that the White Sox are sellers. They are going to be sellers and there is no way around it.
As a matter of fact there even whispers that they might be sellers with the man they gave a nice contract extension just a couple of months ago, Chris Sale. The Texas Rangers might be able to nab him. All in all, no matter what amount of loyalty or success is shown by the White Sox and their players, this team is going to lose some big names and some loved players. They might come out the other end better for it and they might not. Considering how close this team was last year it seems like a bit of a letdown for them to be such sellers this season. That’s the way it is though.
