MLB Los Angeles Dodgers

Don Mattingly And Los Angeles Dodgers Justifiably Full Of Swagger

With back-to-back walk-off wins for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Boys in Blue continued their hot streak in fashion.

On Sunday afternoon, the Dodgers escaped with a lucky win over the Cincinnati Reds off of a Yasiel Puig home run in the bottom of the 11th. Not to be outdone, Mark Ellis singled home Andre Ethier in Tuesday night’s thriller against the New York Yankees for walk-off in the bottom of the ninth.

Winning with style is just one small reason why the Dodgers walk around with their heads held high and confidence bursting at the seams. The main reason the Blue Crew is playing with arrogance is their incredible run. The Dodgers have been the hottest team in baseball recently, winning 27 out of their last 33 games.

With that kind of win percentage, the team has earned the right to play with swagger.

J.P. Hoornstra, a sports writer for the Los Angeles News Group, tweeted this after the win over the Yankees:

Even a win over the Yankees, the team that made Dodgers manager Don Mattingly famous as a player, has not distracted the coach from the real mission: to make it to the playoffs and ultimately win the World Series.

Mattingly is the head of the Dodgers club, and his confidence trickles down to the players who look to him for guidance. From Puig’s controversial bat flips to shirt-ripping celebrations, the Dodgers are heated up and excited for the rest of the season.

With swagger for days and enough momentum to knock over the Great Wall of China, the Dodgers will look to finish out the sweep tonight against the Yankees.

Watch out for this speeding train, because it is going places in a hurry.
