Another day, another Alex Rodriguez story.
So last night, A-Rod, who we all know is facing a long term suspension and possibly even a lifetime ban from the sport he loves so much, could not shut his trap for one single day.
Not only does he still believe the New York Yankees are going to extremes to keep him off the field (which could be true), he also came out and said yesterday, speaking for himself and all the players in MLB via ESPNNewYork.com:
“I think we all want to get rid of PEDs. That’s a must. All the players, we feel that way. But when all this stuff is going on in the background and people are finding creative ways to cancel your contract and stuff like that, I think that is concerning to me..”
So let me get this straight.
Rodriguez, who made his living and what seems to be his whole career using PEDs, wants them out of the game … even though he was given a second chance the first time he was caught, and still chose to use them. He also seems to be suggesting that MLB and the Yankees are scheming behind the scenes to get rid of his contract and possibly ban him from baseball.
Whether what A-Rod says is true or not, how can anyone believe any word that comes out of his mouth? He has proved over these past few years that he lies through his teeth and does not care about anyone but himself.
Even if he does not get a lifetime ban, once Rodriguez gets suspended and is either voided from his contract (or the Yankees buy him out), I highly doubt that he will ever step foot on a MLB field again.
Oh, he also said that he thinks he is going to play for five more years. Ask Barry Bonds how that’s working out.
