Milwaukee Brewers Unexpectedly End Texas Rangers’ Win Streak

In less than two weeks, the Texas Rangers went from six games back in the AL West to a one game lead over the Oakland Athletics. Texas, along with the Los Angeles Dodgers, have been the hottest teams in baseball. Even after losing Nelson Cruz for 50 games, Texas’ offense has kept on clicking.

Coming into Tuesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas had a season-high nine-game winning streak. With Alexi Ogando on the hill, the Rangers were hoping to take the streak to 10 games.

The Brewers and Scooter Gennett had different ideas though. Gennett hit two home runs as the Brewers beat the Rangers 5-1. With a 162-game season, there’s going to be nights like this. Everything on paper said the Rangers should beat the Brewers in a two-game series, but anything can happen on any given night.

Texas wasn’t going to win every game from here on out. They were bound to lose, and they did. What they have to do now is forget and move on.

Moving on should be easy as they send Matt Garza to the hill on Wednesday night against the Brewers. Milwaukee will counter with Tyler Thornburg. Hopefully, the Rangers can get back on track and get the offense rolling again. Texas needs to take advantage of this part of the schedule while they can. After Milwaukee, they play the Seattle Mariners and Houston at home.

This might be a good time to put a little distance between themselves and the A’s.
