Kansas City Royals Made Great Move to Bring in Emilio Bonifacio

Emilio Bonifacio

Any time a team has the chance to bring in a game changing type of player; it is always a good idea to do so. The Kansas City Royals did just that by trading with the Toronto Blue Jays to bring in Emilio Bonifacio. Bonifacio is the kind of player that any team can use when they are involved in a race for the post season in any possible way. He is fast, usually a good hitter and a versatile defensive player as well. They can do a lot more with Bonifacio than they could before they brought him in. That makes it a very good deal.

It might be true that the Royals are on the outside looking in to the MLB playoff picture but if they are out of it, it isn’t by much. I honestly think they have just a good of a chance as anyone even without this trade because their pitching is so potentially dominant. With the addition of Bonifacio they have a guy that can help out with a good pitching staff because of his defense. Also he could be a decent replacement for Mike Moustakas if he has to hit the disabled list.

You know the Royals would love to have both guys but with Moustakas potentially hitting the DL, Bonifacio could be invaluable to them for the huge five game series they have with A.L. Central leading Detroit Tigers. There is no doubt that any time the Royals get a head to head chance against the division leaders it is a chance to make up big ground. There would have been no better time to bring in one of the more versatile and successful players MLB has to offer. It was a great move, plain and simple.
