Miami Marlins’ Jose Fernandez Prepared To Face Los Angeles Dodgers

If there is one more exciting game left on the Miami Marlins schedule, it is coming up Monday when two National League Rookie of the Year candidates get to face each other face-to-face. The 20-year-old fire-baller Jose Fernandez will get to face one of the most electrifying rookie batters in the game in Los Angeles Dodgers‘ outfielder Yasiel Puig.

Not only will Fernandez have to face Puig but he will also have to take on a lineup that is holding its own in the National League itself. The Dodgers are on a 10-game winning streak and could be on an 11-game win streak if it wraps up a sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday. Boasting a 72-50 record and up 8.5 games in the National League West division. Monday’s game for the Marlins is going to be one of the more exciting games of the season.

Playing at Marlins Park, there will be a lot of excitement over the two Cuban-born players, Fernandez and Puig. Both are vying for the rookie of the year award and both deserve it mightily.

Fernandez has kept the Marlins from sinking even further boasting an 8-5 record with a 2.45 ERA, quickly becoming the best pitcher in the organization.

Puig is just one of many great hitters on the Dodgers’ roster. It will be his first at-bats against Fernandez. Currently, Puig is batting .364 with 11 home runs and 27 RBI. He also has showed his cannon for an arm this season.

It will surely be a game to watch and is sure to entice fans to the ballpark.
