Just when the New York Yankees seemed doomed to contend for a playoff spot this season, the revitalized Bronx Bombers will look to make a strong push this September to have the chance to play October baseball. Fans will have a great opportunity to grab Yankees tickets this home stand with a perfect mix of affordable games and prime time matchups on the schedule.
The Yanks have been surrounded by recent controversy with the ongoing Alex Rodriguez Biogenesis scandal. It seemed as if the Yankees had faltered enough to push themselves out of the race with two great teams ahead of them for the last spot in the Wild Card standings. However, it was the Bombers’ series at Fenway in mid-August that sparked the locker room. Since that series, the Yankees have gone 5-3, sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays at home and pulling within five games in the Wild Card race.
The Baltimore Orioles come into town with the same mentality as the Yankees. Baltimore is chasing a playoff spot after leading the Wild Card standings for a good portion of the season.
