There is a little buzz around the Chicago White Sox about the return they got on their trades this season. A few of those young players should prove to be promising and some already are delivering on their promise right now. That might be more important than anyone things though because of the performance of the White Sox’ top prospects. Even their number one, Courtney Hawkins is very troublesome in at least one area.
Each and every minor league prospect has room to grow. It isn’t a problem that their minor league guys have not fully arrived. After all they are minor league prospects and not players at the MLB level for a reason. Still you expect a few things to get harder for them at the major league level, not easier. With that in mind the strikeout problems of Hawkins and Keenyn Walker should be very troubling. Both men have positives to build upon however.
The same cannot be said about another good prospect Jared Mitchell who is struggling in more than one or two areas. He is a promising player but is at the point that the franchise is ready for him to figure out what he’s doing wrong and get it straight. Though there are issues with all prospects, the fact that these guys are the White Sox top prospects might be something they need to worry about. Of course, that is also why their moves this season at the trade deadline and after were very important and why they sought such hefty prices for each player.
