MLB St Louis Cardinals

Winning NL Central Going to be Much Harder now for St. Louis Cardinals

If we have learned anything from the 2013 Major League Baseball season it is this: Never say never for the St. Louis Cardinals. They appeared completely out of the race when they were in their freefall not long ago and then rebounded to overtake the lead in the National League Central. Now however the Pittsburgh Pirates have made some moves and I mean good ones. They are on fire, playing well and making things very difficult for the Cardinals as far as winning the division title goes.

We already learned this lesson though. Just because the Cardinals fell out of first place on Saturday does not mean a thing for the rest of the season. Actually for me this is the most exciting race for the playoffs in all of baseball. We have the weird wildcard playoff game to thank for both teams being desperate to actually win the division. Whatever their reasons though, this race just got a lot more difficult for the Cardinals.

They and the rest of us found something out about the Pirates this week as well you see. We found out that the Pirates have no quit in them either and a little problem here or there like giving up the lead in the division didn’t scare them off at all. If anything the Cardinals foe became more aggressive. I believe the Cardinals are still the favorites to take the division but I mean it isn’t by much. This new Pirates team is going to make things difficult to say the least. Oh and they just added Justin Morneau as well. Buckle down Cards fans, this road to the postseason might have a few bumps along the way.
