Yasiel Puig is a star and because of that everything he does is blown way out of proportion in both positive and negative ways. He has the attention not only of the Los Angeles Dodgers fans but also of everyone from across baseball lines into the secular media as well. Naturally then when he gets benched by Don Mattingly a few days ago, it causes all kinds of circles in the pond. Not to worry though Mattingly and the Dodgers have things under control and this whole thing once again has been blown out of proportion.
The worry from some is that since Puig is a little inexperienced still he might cost the Dodgers in the MLB Posteason. That is ridiculous. Facts being known, even if he did one or two things negatively in the postseason, so what other players including veterans do as well. He will still do much more to help the Dodgers now and then than he will hurt them. Mattingly knows how to play and manage the game of baseball. Chance are, if Puig was not such a popular superstar this wouldn’t have even made the papers; at least not the front page.
As things are we have to talk about it. The phenom was benched. Oh my goodness, how could they do that? They did it to send him a message and teach him a lesson that all young players have to learn. We want you standing in a certain spot for a purpose, is all they were saying. Puig understood and went out to have a great game the next night. It should have been over before it started getting attention from everyone but even so, it should be over now.
