Cleveland Indians Must Only Stay Focused Through Weak Teams to Clinch

It was only a few weeks ago that the Cleveland Indians were masters of missed opportunities. That is until they took their play to the next level just as they began facing less-than-great Major League Baseball teams. Now they have themselves 1.5 games up in the second wildcard spot with two series left in the season, both of which happen to be against sub .500 teams. This is a situation that could not be better for the Tribe. They control their own destiny which is what every team wishes for at this time of the season.

First up in their final week of games is the Chicago White Sox. They are a bit tough right now as they have played their best baseball of the entire season in the final month. The Indians did just win a series against them however and they look to stay up in the wildcard with just a little bit of simple execution against these guys.

The final few games of the season will be against the Minnesota Twins. This is a team that the Indians should have little trouble with. If they get a few breaks they could probably afford a loss in this and the White Sox series. This is the ultimate opportunity for them and there is only one way it could go wrong. That would be if they cement their title as masters of missed opportunities by losing more than two games over this final week. They cannot afford to let the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals slip into their wildcard spot.
