There have been a few whispers during the 2013 season that would suggest Ned Yost could be on his way out as manager of the Kansas City Royals. Now as the regular season has ended there are some suggestions that things could be leaning the other direction. The track record of Yost is not long but it is pretty good. He tends to continue helping a team of his improve year after year. That would bode very well for the Royals considering the season just ending. Bring Yost back Royals, you won’t regret it.
Just looking at his number across his career you begin to wonder why the Milwaukee Brewers ever fired him. Honestly, he had them in last place for two seasons then began moving up. They finished second in their division two years running and third one other season before then, and then he was gone. Not sure why moving up is a bad thing but in MLB this day in time, the Manager is always the first to go.
The Brewers tend to manager hop anyway and this is the Royals we are talking about. Oops, they do the same thing. As a matter of fact they had three different managers during the best ten year period of their franchise. No one has lasted longer the four or five years at the max and next year will be Yost’s fourth. Hopefully the Royals will notice that their history is not littered with World Series titles and break tradition by sticking with Yost long term.
