The Boston Red Sox finished the season tied for best record in baseball with 97 wins and 65 losses. Those 97 wins were enough for Boston to win the American League East for the first time in six years. The Red Sox went 32-25 in the AL East this season, which will help, as their Divisional Series opponent will be the Tampa Bay Rays. Red Sox tickets for the ALDS against the Rays are selling for a $323 average on the secondary market, 221 percent over the regular season average of $100.60 for home games.

The Red Sox offense is a big reason why the team was able to recover from a 69-93 in 2012. Boston led AL teams in runs scored, slugging and on base percentage and had the most stolen bases, 123, of the four playoff teams in the AL. Designated hitter David Ortiz was a leading force in that lineup as he completed his twelfth season in a row with at least 20 home runs.

The Rays didn’t take the easiest route to the American League Divisional Series after having to win a regular season tiebreaker and a Wild Card game, but they’re here now. After wins against the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians, the Rays will play the Red Sox in the ALDS. The Rays were a significantly better team at home in 2013, with a 51-30 record in 81 games at Tropicana Field, which will put a greater emphasis on the two potential home games in this series. Rays tickets for the ALDS are selling at a $117 average on the secondary market, a 116 percent increase over the average regular season home game price of $54.15.

Outfielder Delmon Young is picking up where he left off last postseason with the Tigers after he homered against Cleveland in the Wild Card game, giving him nine home runs in his last 23 playoff games. A healthy Desmond Jennings will also be important for the Rays as he went 2-3 with a double batting sixth against the Indians.

Prices for possible home World Series tickets in Tampa Bay have an average price of $1,026. While Boston, who has a chance to make it back to the World Series for the third time in 10 years, currently has the highest average price for World Series tickets at $1,717 per seat.
