Miami Marlins Creating “Marlins Mindset” is a Very Good Plan by GM

Some Miami Marlins fans probably feel that they will have a long road from where they are now to a real winning season. That would be the case because they already know that their payroll is going to be low going into each season. That could change at any point but it takes a lot to change the owner of a team so they will have to make a winning team with the payroll they have. That could seem impossible but one glace at the Oakland Athletics will tell you it isn’t. They’ve done it for years.

In the spirit of trying to create a winning atmosphere with the payroll and team that he has, team GM is trying to build a mindset for the Marlins. He wants the team to have a specific approach to hitting and playing the game that they will have a nice little name for like the “Marlins Mindset” or something similar. That might seem strange but if you go to the A’s official website it has a slogan at the top that reads “Green Collar Baseball”.

This could actually work to the team’s advantage in many ways. They are in the process of building the team of hitting instructors that can help instill in the team a philosophy that inevitably could build great team togetherness. They can go to the park and fight their hearts out and when they win be able to say, “This is the Marlins way of playing baseball.” They will need the right players and it could take a couple of years to catch on but I think it is a really good first step.
