San Francisco Giants Rumors: Pablo Sandoval Trade is Not Best for Team

Some trades are good and some trades are bad at the MLB level. Some trades however just make no sense at all. Pablo Sandoval is one of the more productive players on the San Francisco Giants roster. He is even productive enough to have had a productive 2013 for the most part when few others did anywhere close to their usual stats. So, naturally the Giants are planning to listen to trade offers on Sandoval.

I have an idea. Instead of trading him to someone else, why don’t the Giants compare the last three seasons’ statistics of him and Hunter Pence and give the Pence money to the one that has been the most productive? See, now that idea makes sense. I hate to think that they have to consider moving some players to help free up salary because of the ridiculous sum given to Pence but it is possible.

Anyway, if it were to free up money, why do it with Sandoval? He doesn’t make even 10 million per season. I realize he is going into the final season of his contract and the experts say that there are few good third basemen out there. Those are not reasons to get rid of one of the better guys in the bigs though. Heck, give him a few years extension like you did Pence.

Come on Giants, it surely wouldn’t make sense to get rid of Sandoval just to watch him put up 75- 85 RBI next season for someone else while Pence disappoints relative to his paycheck. Put some brain power behind this thing.
