When it comes to filling the hot corner regularly, any and every Major League Baseball team looks for the power and consistency that they need from a corner position. Only a few teams are lucky enough to lock in one of the best in the game however and the Texas Rangers are one of those with Adrian Beltre. He comes in at No. 11 on the Rant Sports MLB Top 50 Players for quite a few reasons.

Even though he is getting into the meat of his 30’s, Beltre had the third .300 plus batting average in the last four seasons. Once again his home run total was at thirty which makes it thirty or more home runs for the last three seasons. His 92 RBI are among his other big stats that all rank in the top few third basemen in baseball. Though his WAR was down a tad in 2013 it was due to a little bad luck defensively as his offensive WAR was 5.9, higher than it was in his near-MVP caliber season in 2012.

There appears to be nothing ready to slow this guy down at the hot corner. But his stats aren’t the only great thing about him. Beltre exhibited another quality this season that he continues to be consistent with. He has fun playing baseball. Once playing the Houston Astros he got into a run-down and avoided the tag by running up the left-field line into the outfield. Everyone including the umpire had a chuckle at it. That’s Beltre playing the game the way it should be played as he always does.
