It is just about a foregone conclusion that the Tampa Bay Rays are going to trade David Price this offseason. His value is simply too high for them to hold on to him when they can greatly benefit greatly from a trade. There will be a ton of teams in on Price aiming to greatly improve their rotation in one big move. One team that has surfaced as a possible suitor for the Rays in a Price trade is surprisingly the Houston Astros. Actually it isn’t that surprising at all when you think about it.
Why would the Rays trade Price? They clearly would only trade him because they can get a ton of top level prospects in return. Every team in MLB has top prospects but there is little doubt about one point. Though the Astros aren’t favored to win the World Series for a year or two, they most certainly do have one of the top organizations in the major leagues. That makes them less of an underdog.
Actually they could potentially be a favorite for Price if things were to work out right. He is worth a lot of top prospects and no team in baseball has more top prospects to offer than the Astros. It could be a match made in heaven for the low-income Rays to rake in a huge amount of talent in one huge sweep while the Astros would still have talent to burn and a dominant ace just like that. It might be a lot more likely that many people think.
