Once upon a time the New York Yankees were the evil laugh of MLB free agency. They were the place that would pay more than anyone to gain the services of any ballplayer. In many ways they are still the same. Enter into that equation the Kansas City Royals who have a limited budget but still have a passion for winning. Both teams have been talking to the people for Omar Infante at the 2013 MLB Winter Meetings. Who will win?

At one time it would be laughable to think the Royals could sway a player to sign with them stead of the powerful Yankees but times are different now. There is something exciting going on in Kansas City that might appeal to all available free agents to a certain point. When you think about it, the Royals could be said to have a better chance to win this coming season than the Yankees.

Sure the Yankees have made a lot of good moves but that doesn’t always mean anything when the team gets on the field. The current Royals team is basically the one that took the field a year ago with a few small changes. They can closer to the goal than they have in years. Is it possible that someone with the ability of Infante would be willing to listen to the Royals on the same level as the Yankees? We will have to wait and see but if it has to be one of these two teams, a lot of people will hoping the Royals win.
