Freddie Freeman Braved Atlanta Ice Storm With Some Unlikely Help
There are many ways retired Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones could spend his retirement. It was pretty much a given that he would work on his golf game, maybe jump in the broadcast booth or hunt; but rescue runs in the blistering cold on an ATV was definitely not one of them — until Wednesday.

He hugged me the whole way home!

That would be Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman hugging and dangling from the back of Chipper Jones’ ATV. Jones provided the assist to rescue the star, who found himself stranded in the middle of one of Atlanta’s most dangerous winter storms on record. Who else but Jones to show up in full out camo gear ready to help? It’s hilarious to say the least.
Of course, the stunt was not without its detractors. There are many Atlanta residents stranded around the city, pileups on every interstate; frankly, it’s easy to get lost in the comedy of the ‘rescue’, but there are people being seriously affected. Jones is the consummate good guy, and he proved it Wednesday. Yes, this is a case of the rich helping the rich, but there’s thousands of Atlanta residents that also need help and Jones’ reach doesn’t extend that far.
With temperatures expected to rise this week, the worst of the storm may be behind Atlanta residents. That would probably also end Chipper Jones’ ATV service. Hopefully we get to see Jones with a new venture in the near future. Maybe Chipper’s Octocopter Drone Rescue. We’ll take anything at this point if it gives us gold like this.
