5 Questions the Kansas City Royals Must Answer During Spring Training

In the recent past, any good things going on for the Kansas City Royals during or after a Major League Baseball season are usually views through a pessimistic lens. As the 2014 season approaches however, that feeling has changed. This team is looked at now as a team that would actually be disappointed if they didn’t improve over 2013. They have a very good chance to do so.

First of all, they have one of the best defenses in the game with three 2013 Gold Glove winners just on the cusp of the best parts of their careers. They have one of the most promising young catchers in the game who is an all-star caliber, gold glove winning 23-year old. Alex Gordon speaks for himself with the great plays he make in the outfield. Add in the two that will be with him in the outfield in 2014 and you have a great defensive team.

The addition of Omar Infante will only help the defensive prowess of the team and will also very likely improve the offense as well. Gordon and Eric Hosmer look to be pluses on offense as well. While some things do appear almost a foregone conclusion, there are questions that loom during the Spring Training season. Here are five such questions that the Royals will have to find some answer to over the month and a half of spring games.
