Everything is right in the world as MLB is back and the Chicago Cubs are ready to get back on the field in the Windy City and look to write the ship after a last-place finish in 2013.  A couple of new additions in the offseason should have the Cubs winning more ball games this season and he average price for Cubs tickets at Wrigley Field in 2014 is $102, which is about 5.6% down from last season.

The most expensive series for the Cubs at Wrigley in 2014 comes in July when they face their NL Central rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals.  The defending National League champions will come to Chicago for a big series in late July as the trade deadline looms and some players could be seeing their final games in their prospective uniforms.  The average price for Cubs vs Cardinals tickets is $154, which is 51% above the home average at Wrigley.

It’s always a sellout crowd when the New York Yankees come to town.  The Bronx Bombers come to Wrigley for a quick two-game series in May that will be in high demand.  The Yankees made a plethora of moves this offseason that should have them right back in the playoff race in 2014.  The two-game series will have game one in the evening and game two in the afternoon.  The average price for this series is $137, which is 34% above the home average.

The Atlanta Braves come to town in a huge three-game series to end the first half of the season and send the Cubbies to the All-Star break. The Braves look to defend their NL East crown when they head to the Windy City.  Atlanta lost some key pieces, but still bring back the big boppers in the outfield and the dominant bullpen.  The average price for this three game weekend series is just under $137, which is 34% above the Cubs home average.

The Washington Nationals come to Chi-town for a four-game set in late June.  This is going to be a cool series for longtime baseball fans as it features an old-fashioned doubleheader on Saturday. The Nationals have a ton of young talent and are the preseason favorites to win the NL East this season.  The average price for this four game set is $129, which is 26% above the Wrigley Field average.

The Baltimore Orioles will make their way up North to Chicago for a three-game inter-league series in late August.  With the sun shining for the three afternoon games, it should be a terrific series against a powerful Baltimore offense.  The Orioles bolstered their lineup by adding Nelson Cruz as they try to win a very deep AL East.  The average price for this series is $118, which is 16% above the average price at Wrigley this season.

The Cubs will have plenty of young players shining this season as they try and build a champion in the NL Central.  There are some young bats and some power arms on their way, so this should be a fun team to watch throughout the season.  Catching a game at Wrigley Field is a must for any MLB fan and something to check off the bucket list.
