Ryan Zimmerman Breaking His Thumb Is Bad Omen for the Washington Nationals
The Washington Nationals have had a decent start to this year, but there just seems to be bad mojo around every time that they play the Atlanta Braves. They lost Ryan Zimmerman to a broken thumb last week, and it seems he will be out for about six weeks.
“It is what it is. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us,” manager Matt Williams said after the loss. “You’ve got to play.”
He is quite right about that, but it just remains to be seen whether they will play their way back to the postseason. This is a loaded squad, but things just did not click last season.
Staying on the topic of the Nationals, be sure to keep an eye out on my twitter feed for some exciting news regarding Bryce Harper and a new endorsement deal that he recently signed.
It is a shame that this injury happened so early in the season, because Zimmerman was starting to get into a bit of a groove. He was batting .364 and even had two home runs in only ten games; here is hoping he can get back soon, because nobody holds down the hot corner quite like Zimmerman.
This is definitely a situation that I will keep an eye on, and you know that Rant Sports will be on the ball as soon as there is an update.
