The Arizona Diamondbacks (5-16) will travel to Wrigley Field to take on the Chicago Cubs (5-12) this week, in a four-game series featuring two struggling teams. Neither squad has been able to get it together in the early going, and many are predicting last place finishes for both in 2014. That's not a good sign when it's still April.

Here's a look at all you need to know for D-backs/Cubs:

Hitting hasn't been the problem in Arizona this season. The D-backs are near the middle or top of almost every major team offensive category.

Mark Trumbo is leading the team in HR (6) and RBI (18), but he's hitting a measly .208 thus far. It'll be interesting to see if he really gets his bat going over four games in Chicago.

The Cubs need power bats, badly. Somebody besides Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo has to step up in the HR and RBI department, or the Cubs are going to have a difficult time winning 60 games.

Mike Olt has looked fairly promising in limited action this year (3 HR, 6 RBI) and Wellington Castillo is off to a decent start (3 HR, 8 RBI). If Chicago can get consistent production from one of those two, they'd be in much better shape offensively.

Series Prediction

This is a tough series to call, mainly because both teams have been so bad early in the season. Something has to give, but we won't necessarily get a clear winner with four games on the docket.

Main storyline to follow -- can the Cubs pitching slow down the D-backs strong offense? If so, they've got a solid chance to win a couple.

I hate to do it, but the safe call here is a series split. At this point, both teams will take it.
