If the MLB regular season ended today, the Texas Rangers would get the award for the grittiest team in baseball this year. They had key injuries and big changes that many believed would not work and yet they just refuse to stop fighting. Even when it came to calling on one of their top pitching prospects to start in MLB, things went quite well. Take a look at the top five pitching prospects for the Rangers.

Kola has been on relief duty and has done well. Through 8 appearances he has a 2.61 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 5 saves.

In the minors this year Martinez has done well with a 1.86 ERA and 1.55 WHIP but has done better in the majors. He has a 2.81 ERA in the big show with an even better 1.31 WHIP.

Through five starts, Asher has a 5.61 ERA but the WHIP looks okay at 1.44. He has improvement room for sure.

Other than Martinez, Jackson probably is the best performing pitching prospect for the Rangers top five. Through five starts he has a 2.63 ERA and a very low 0.91 WHIP.
