After narrowly evading a nine-game losing streak on Apr. 23, the Seattle Mariners have won three of their last four games. While this is by no means a full recovery from their horrid start to the 2014 season, Mariners fans have Kyle Seager to thank for the team’s recent turnaround.

Since Seager led the M’s walk-off win on Apr. 23, Seattle is 3-1. He was also bestowed co-AL Player of the Week honors with Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu. Seattle’s third baseman hit .409/.458/1.091 that week, boosting his average 70 points to .228. Seager’s hit streak is currently at five games, and he has clubbed five home runs and plated 11 RBIs in that stretch.

More importantly, the Mariners are winning again. Momentum is on their side, and on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium, Mariners second baseman Cano had the last laugh against his former squad.

Tonight’s tilt versus the New York Yankees has been postponed due to inclement weather, but the city of Seattle and Mariners fans everywhere hope Seager’s bat will stay hot, and that his play may further ignite the likes of Hart, first baseman Justin Smoak and catcher Mike Zunino.
