The Indians have already had to overcome some issues and injuries in 2014, and there are a number of players on the roster that might have what it takes to make an impact at the Major League level. They need to prove they have what it takes.

Josh Tomlin will take the hill for the Indians Tuesday against the Twins, and he will be called upon to try to give the team a boost in place of Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco was sent to the pen after having early outings that just didn't give the team much confidence. Tomlin has worked hard to get the shot to be back in the rotation.

With Jason Kiptis on the DL for the next 3-5 weeks, Mike Aviles will get a number of chances to give the club a lift with his bat and glove. He's hitting .250 with a homer and 5 RBI, and the team hopes he will be able to improve on those numbers playing a lot more in the next few weeks.

George Kottaras may not be up very long with catcher Yan Gomes on paternity leave, but he made the most of his time on Sunday, helping Corey Kluber reach a career high 13 strikeouts and hitting a pair of solo homers in the 4-3 setback. The team will likely need him at certain points during the season, and his debut was a huge success despite it being on a losing effort.

Ryan Raburn will see playing time as the club will look to use him --not only do they want to ease Michael Bourn back in from his latest hamstring scare, they also to give regulars a break. He's played in 20 games and is hitting just .172 with 0 homers and 6 RBI, but will get a chance to push those numbers up in the next weeks of playing time.

Nyjer Morgan is a player to watch with the Indians, as Michael Bourn's hamstring issue will give Morgan a chance to be the table setter for the club. He's done just that so far, hitting .357 with four runs batted in to go along with three steals. Morgan is proving again that he should have a job at the Major League level on a full-time basis.
