The Atlanta Braves recent struggles continued tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals. Manager Fredi Gonzalez had changed up his lineup in hopes of sparking the Braves’ bats, but it did not work. The Braves are now losers of seven straight games and if things don’t change, the team might be in for a long season.

For some reason, the Braves have struggled to drive in runs when they have runners in scoring position. They have been one key hit away from winning a couple of these last few games. The pitching has put the Braves in position to win, but they haven’t gotten any run support. The bats will need to come alive if the Braves want to get out of this losing streak.

Gonzalez moved all of his big hitters up a spot in the lineup. I thought the change would make a difference in the game, but it seems as though the Braves need more than a lineup change to in order to get out of their slump. Maybe they should bring some players off the bench and see if they can make a difference because the starters aren’t getting it done.

Luckily for the Braves, Freddi Freeman had a good night and is starting to get some life in his bat again. Not only did Freeman have a good night, but several other players had some good at-bats. Maybe the losing streak is just temporary, but if the Braves plan on winning games again, they need to step up and start manufacturing more runs.
