The New York Yankees are the most talked about franchise in baseball every year. They usually spend the most money in free agency, this year included, and they are always making controversial moves. They are the winningest franchise in all of sports with 27 world titles. They have played well so far this season, but there are issues. These are five things we have learned about the Yankees so far.

The Yankees had a lot of question marks when it came to the bullpen coming into the season. That is what happens when the greatest closer of all time finally retires. David Robertson dealt with an early minor injury, but beyond that it has been as good as it could have been. Of the five players who have eight or more appearances, only one pitcher has an ERA higher than 3.20 (Shawn Kelley - 3.52). Robertson is perfect in save opportunities.

Anyone who thought that the Yankees made a bad move signing Masahiro Tanaka is currently trying to pull their foot out of their mouth. He allows less than one baserunner an inning. He has struck out 51 batters in less than 43 innings. He has a .217 batting average against. He is already this team's ace.

Mark Teixeira missed most of last season with injuries he obtained during the World Baseball Classic. You could see how much it hurt the lineup from the beginning. Now, e has already hit five homeruns in 19 games. His power seems to have returned after last year. If he can stay in the lineup, this is a very scary team.

When you have Brett Gardner, Alfonso Soriano, Jacoby Ellsbury, Ichiro Suzuki and Carlos Beltran you are going to have some hard decisions to make on a daily basis. Ichiro has not made it easier by being the best hitting player on the team. Before this becomes a problem, they need to find a place to send one of these players. Maybe they wait until an injury, but eventually someone has to move.

If someone told you how well Tanaka has started, they would tell you that the Yankees rotation would have been their strength. With the early struggles of C.C. Sabathia and Hiroki Kiroda on top of the injuries to Michael Pineda and Ivan Nova, this is now the Yankees' biggest question mark. You don't know what you are getting on Tanaka's off-days.
