Watching Yasiel Puig play baseball is a pretty solid treat for MLB fans. You never know what you’re going to see and hit antics on and off the field are pretty legendary. As you probably know if you’re a fan of Puig, he is known for his bat flips after a big hit or home run.

The second-year Los Angeles Dodgers‘ star made the celebration famous during ‘Puigmania’ in 2013 and the rest of the league took it as a cocky gesture, but they had to realize that it’s all that Puig knew from playing back in Cuba.

Sometimes his bat flip has angered opponents and other times it has angered his own team and fans. He’s even done a bat flip celebration when he thought he hit a homer over the fence that turned out to be just short — making him look pretty foolish.

Well, the Cuban-born star took to the streets of New York with rapper Fat Joe — who was also his translator — for a segment on MLB Fan Cave to show the citizens of the Big Apple how to flip a bat to celebrate life’s special moments.

This video is simply awesome for the pure fact that these people probably know nothing about baseball — based on their swings — yet are flipping a bat to celebrate things like graduation, unemployment, divorce and even a birthday.

Who better to teach you how to celebrate than Puig?

What was the lesson learned from watching this video? Always perform a bat flip when something good — or even bad — happens in your life. You know, celebrate the little things.
