All of the excitement about the debut of rookie Tommy La Stella went a bit quiet because the Atlanta Braves lost once again to the Boston Red Sox. You get the general feeling that this might be one of those series of games that the Braves got to at just the wrong time. It looked like they were getting to the Sox at just the right time considering how badly the Red Sox were playing but that was deceptive.

Maybe the Braves could have swept all four games if that first game would have stayed like it was. With the way it happened however, they will be lucky if they sneak out of Boston with one win out of the four. The worst off the worst for the Brave is the bullpen. I wouldn’t be surprised if half of the bullpen is already on the charter waiting for the trip to Miami.

Seriously it wouldn’t be surprising at all if the Braves marched on after this Boston series and went on about their business playing just as well as they were before. Maybe the only real thing that is wrong with the Braves right now is simply the fact that they are the team that happened to be playing the champs when they finally started putting it all together. On the other hand, this could be the start of another offensive funk along with a swoon in the bullpen. The next week should tell the story.
