A Look Ahead at the Top 5 Washington Nationals Tickets Before the Break
The Washington Nationals have been on a tear recently. They’ve jumped to first in the NL East with a 35-30 record and a +44 run differential, a number that is third in the entire league. This is on the strength of a 10-3 run over their last 13 games, including three straight wins against the NL-leading San Francisco Giants by a combined score of 17-5 in San Francisco. But even with all that success the Nationals still have one of the lowest ticket averages in the entire league with the season average for Nationals tickets at $53.73.
Below are the top five games before the All-Star break on the National schedule in terms of average price, as compiled by TiqIQ:
7/4 vs CHC | Avg. Price: $58.19 | Get-in Price: $14
The Chicago Cubs have been one of the worst teams in the league over the last several years. Only the Tampa Bay Rays have a worse record, and with a 11-24 record for road games, the Cubs don’t seem like a huge challenge to the Nats. But Nationals vs. Cubs tickets have the highest average at $58.19 because it’s being played on Friday July 4th. That’s eight percent higher than the season average, the only game on the list above the average. The get-in price of $14 is also the highest on the list.
7/5 vs CHC | Avg. Price: $49 | Get-in Price: $8
Saturday’s game is the next highest on the list, but the average price drops below the season average. At $49 it is a 9 percent drop from the average, and the $8 get-in price is almost half what it was for Friday’s game.
6/21 vs ATL | Avg. Price: $48 | Get-in Price: $11
The next game on the list is another Saturday, but this game features stronger competition. The Atlanta Braves have had the top spot in the NL East for most of the season, and just recently lost the lead to the Nationals. Nationals vs. Braves tickets are averaging $48 for the game for an 11 percent drop from the season average. The $11 get-in is the second highest on the list, and the last game with a get-in price over $10.
6/22 vs ATL | Avg. Price: $46 Get-in Price: $8
The next game on the list is once again against the Braves. It is the final game of the series, and a Sunday matinee. The average price is down 14 percent from the season average to $46, and the get-in price is $8. That’s even with a couple promotions for the game. It’s Cap Day, so fans going to the game will get a free Braves cap, and after the game, kids get to run the bases.
7/7 vs BAL | Avg. Price: $45 Get-in Price: $7
The final game on the list is a local affair. While the Baltimore Orioles and Nationals are in different conferences, the two teams are both in Maryland and are quite close. Nationals vs. Orioles tickets are 16 percent below the season average at $45, and the get-in price of $7 is the lowest on the list. While the Orioles are not leading their division, they are only a game behind the Nationals with a 34-31 record. Both teams were in the postseason two years ago, but failed to make it out of the divisional round and both of them missed the postseason last year.
