It's been a tough first half of the season for the Rangers this season. Take a look at the 5 things we've learned about the Rangers midway through 2014.

Not that the Texas Rangers didn't know what they were getting when they signed Arencibia, but he ending up being worse than expected. His power was his only redeeming quality, and he hit only one home run in 20 games. A trip to the minors, and maybe no coming back, was the only option.

4. Shin-Soo Choo Has Been A Disappointment

It's a year full of disappointments thus far, so add Choo to the list. Batting only .255 and stealing only three bases is not what you'd expect from Choo. The Rangers envisioned some speed at the top of the lineup, but Choo has been providing the opposite.

3. Adrian Beltre Takes A Huge Step Toward His Legacy

Beltre is one of the few shining moments in this 2014 Rangers season. He just recently got his 2500 hit during his career of big hits and monster home runs. Once his career comes to a close, a Hall of Fame bid might be something to seriously consider.

2. Thank Goodness For Yu Darvish

Where would this team be if they didn't have Darvish? Other than Darvish, you can't rely on any of the Rangers starters. Six other pitchers have at least five starts this season with an average ERA of 4.86. Rough.

Fielder was going to be a huge boost to the Rangers lineup to go along with Alex Rios, Adrian Beltre, Shin-Soo Choo amongst others. Unfortunately, neck surgery has derailed those plans and Fielder won't be seen until next year. The Rangers don't look like they'll be able to recover.
