With all the trade winds surrounding the St. Louis Cardinals, the team could stay put at the trade deadline and use some of its prospects instead.

The St. Louis Cardinals are going to need its depth in the farm system to come through once again. James Ramsey could get a call-up at some point. He is hitting .307 with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs in double-A Peoria heading into Wednesday.

Already seeing 19 games with the Cardinals, Randal Grichuk could come back in August to help the Cardinals out. Grichuck did strikeout 15 times in 48 plate appearances, as he seemed unready to make the leap to the majors.

Tim Cooney might not receive full-time action until 2015, but with the recent Cardinals' pitching woes, Cooney could make a spot start or two by August. Cooney has eight wins in 16 starts this season with 73 strikeouts for triple-A Memphis.

Should the Cardinals trade Allen Craig this summer, Stephen Piscotty would get the nod in the outfield. Piscotty is one of the top prospects the Cardinals have. He is really starting to show his stuff at triple-A Memphis this year hitting .306/.362/.437 with 25 doubles, 51 RBIs and 41 runs scored.

The Cardinals had Marco Gonzales up this past weekend to pitch and then sent him back to triple-A. Gonzales is the most likely candidate to be recalled by August because of all the injuries in St. Louis' rotation. The 2013 first-round pick allowed 11 earned runs in three starts with St. Louis.
