After losing Clayton Kershaw to start the year and coming out of the gates slow, the Los Angeles Dodgers have really turned it on. At the All-Star break, the Dodgers are leading the National League West by one game.

The Dodgers have one of the best offenses in baseball. The team is in the Top 10 in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS. As long as the Dodgers keep hitting with Yasiel Puig and Hanley Ramirez, among others, the team should be heading for a division title.

The Dodgers' defense is average compared to the rest of the league. The team's defensive efficiency ratio is .690 while the Dodger's fielding percentage is .984. However, the Dodgers' defense needs to cut down on the errors moving forward.

The Dodgers have one of the best staffs in baseball and with Clayton Kershaw gearing up for a third-straight Cy Young (11-2, 1.78 ERA), you do not need much help behind him in the rotation. Luckily, the Dodgers do have plenty of help with Zack Greinke (11-5, 2.73 ERA), Hyun-Jin Ryu (10-5, 3.44 ERA), Dan Haren (8-6, 4.23 ERA) and Josh Beckett (6-5, 2.26 ERA). Los Angeles' pitching staff is the strong point of the club.

The Dodgers do have a solid ninth-inning guy in Kenley Jansen, but can the team rely on Brian Wilson and the rest of the pen for the remainder of the season? The rest of the bullpen has been quite shaky and is not really deserving of too much praise.

Don Mattingly is doing another great job handling all the egos on the team. Luckily, the newly signed contract is not going to his head. Now, Mattingly has to get this Dodgers' team to the World Series this year.
