The Minnesota Twins are headed for another dismal finish this season, and they should be actively looking to part with multiple veterans ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

A prime candidate to be traded is outfielder Josh Willingham, who is in the last year of his contract and can be a difference-making right-handed power hitter when he's healthy. Here are five potential landing spots for Willingham.

The Braves have not gotten much production from their bench this year, and Willingham is hitting .273 with an .852 OPS against left-handed pitchers this year (55 at-bats). He is due around $3 million for the rest of the season, but Atlanta would not have to part with anything significant to acquire Willingham.

The Mariners have been attached to multiple hitters in trade rumors, and they've already made a deal with the Twins for Kendrys Morales. But Willingham would likely come cheaply enough in a deal so as not to prevent other moves, and in the right role his production could help Seattle stay in the playoff race.

Willingham's clear lack of defensive prowess would not be a great fit in the National League, where he can't be in the lineup as a designated hitter on a regular basis. But the Reds may overlook that as long as he is hitting, since Willingham's 10 home runs this year would be tie him for third on the team right now.

Starling Marte is eligible to come off the 7-day concussion disabled list this week, but if he has to be out longer than that the Pirates may show some late interest in Willingham to help fill a void in left field.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.com reported on Sunday that the Yankees are showing interest in Willingham. Moving to a more-hitter-friendly home park would help Willingham succeed, and the wrist issue that cost him 41 games earlier in the season seems to be in the rearview mirror.
