The Washington Nationals joined another first place team, the Kansas City Royals as the only two teams in the MLB to have winning streaks of ten games this season. The Nationals, though, have been making the streak more of a thrill for fans to enjoy.

The Nationals have taken their third straight series sweep with a 1-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, and for the fifth time in six games, the team won on it’s final at-bat. The contributions have been coming from everybody. The starting pitching has been throwing late into games, the bullpen keeps the team in it, and the offense gets timely hitting and makes smart decisions. They also catch a fair share of breaks, such as today’s game winning error that award outfielder Denard Span home for the lone run of the game.

The team currently leads the National League East by seven games, and with the latest play, it will difficult to see them give up that lead in the last five weeks. They are playing up the potential many saw them before Opening Day, and with the roster healthy for the most part, it does not look like they will be cooling down anytime soon.

The team shall be exciting, and with four different players deciding to play the role of walk off hero, it should be fun to see who else contributes over the course of the next five weeks and help make the Nationals even more exciting than they already are.
