The Boston Red Sox finished in last place in the American League East division during the 2014 MLB season, leaving plenty of places for improvement this offseason. Before anything can be done, though, Boston must decide which players are absolutely not coming back to town. With this in mind, here are the five players the Red Sox surely will not bring back in 2015.

Bradley received his second full chance to start with Boston in 2014 and failed miserably, posting a miserable .198/.265/.266 slash line over 127 games played. At this point, Bradley looks like nothing more than a backup outfielder with little pop, which puts him behind a somewhat deep bench of outfielders in Boston. Look for the Red Sox to shop Bradley this offseason, and for some team to take the 24-year-old.

Workman has always been somewhat of a fringe prospect, and after posting a 5.17 ERA and -1.1 WAR it is clear he has no future in Boston. The Red Sox will likely be looking to win a World Series in 2015, and Workman simply hasn't shown what it takes to stick around.

3. David Ross

Ross has been a very good backup catcher for Boston the last two seasons, but at 37 years of age, it is clear his time in MLB is coming to an end. Ross has already signed with ESPN to work this October, and it would not be a surprise to see him retire and join the worldwide leader in sports full-time.

Breslow had a somewhat miserable 2014 season, with a 1.77 WHIP and 5.13 ERA proving to be a major disappointment after a dominant 2013. The 34-year-old has an option for the 2015 season, but at this point, it would make sense to try a young left-hander out of the bullpen or bring in some fresh blood from elsewhere for the bullpen.

De La Rosa has shown flashes of great ability on the mound in 2014, but an 0-3 record and 7.11 ERA in September left a bad impression. At 25 years old, there is certainly time for De La Rosa to develop, but one would assume that the Red Sox will be looking to bring in veterans during the offseason and kick out some youngsters. Look for De La Rosa to be one of those who is kicked out of town.
