Kansas City Royals Win Classic AL Wild Card Game On Walk-Off Hit
After it seemed like the Kansas City Royals‘ furious comebacks would fall short in the AL Wild Card game, some postseason magic started brewing in the bottom of the 9th and 12th innings. KC managed to even the score at 7-7 in the 9th, and then again at 8-8 with one out in the 12th.
The stage was then set for Salvador Perez with two outs in the bottom of the 12th:
This game was an absolute classic. The Royals seemed dead in the water at multiple points, but via some well-played small ball and timely hits, they kept coming back.
As for the Oakland Athletics, they’ll be shaking their heads all offseason long after letting a four-run lead slip away.
